Lego Store Leicester Square

So I had an hour on Saturday morning before going to the Moana Masterclass (more on that in a future post) and as I was in London I thought I would go and check out the just opened Lego Store, the biggest in the world. I could see that it was a serious business and very popular as at 9.15 a small queue was beginning to form and the store didn't open until 10. Knowing that this was still my best chance to visit today I joined the queue. The ropes around the outside of the store along with tales from others meant that later it was likely that, as on previous days, there would be queues snaking around the building as the day went on. Whilst we waited we were given some store opening stickers as a gift.

Anyway, this is a photo tour of some of the more impressive sculptures and models. There was also hands on making areas for both Lego and Duplo and make your own mini figures so I created Father Christmas and some other characters to take home for the kids. The Lego boxes were stacked high around the edge of the store and included a range of London landmarks and double decker buses. The models also truly reflected the London location, the underground train was fun and the details of Big Ben were just amazing.

I wouldn't call this shop a destination in its own right unless you live in central London but if you are passing through this part of London it is definitely worth a visit, I will have to return with the kids as they will love it.
