Princess for a Day at Disneyland Paris

Princess for the day at Disneyland Paris

Princess for a Day is an experience for children aged 3-12 at the Disneyland Hotel. A package including a dress can be booked in advance of your holiday but we wanted the basic package and so we went to the Disneyland Hotel Boutique and booked my daughter's package on the day we arrived (December 2015) . We ideally wanted it for the next day for our visit to the Auberge de Cendrillon restaurant and the earliest slot available was 4.00 p.m. Although it would have been nicer to have an earlier appointment it did mean that the hair and make up still looked good for dinner. We booked the cheapest Princess package for 55 Euros (price correct at time of review) which included make up, hair and one photo printed out for us. My daughter brought her own dress, her favourite Cinderella dress from Sainsburys. She doesn't often wear princess dressing up clothes any more but she loved this dress inspired by the live action Cinderella film and covered in butterflies. My daughter had also really wanted a 'proper' metal tiara from Harrington's Store on Main Street so she chose one for this occasion.

This is the area where the little princesses have their hair and make up done...

I enjoyed the complimentary apple and orange juice available whilst my daughter had the makeover.

The hair and make up took about 20 minutes. We were not given a choice of styles but the assistant gave my daughter a hairstyle and make up to suit her dress along with face paint to also link into the theme...

Now to go through to the next room for photographs... We had an annual pass photopass and the photographer took 21 photos for us. We could also choose our favourite picture in the boutique afterwards to be printed off for us.

After we left my daughter enjoyed being a princess around the hotel and the Park. She got lots of comments from Cast Members who greeted her and called her "princess".

We then went for our restaurant reservation at Auberge de Cendrillon where we met the real Cinderella, Rapunzel and Snow White and her Prince. I loved the food and my daughter loved the interaction and the chocolate shoe dessert! We were disappointed that the mice didn't visit that day as Suzy and Perla are they are usually at the restaurant too but it was a perfect way to complete the whole the princess experience.  Whilst we fine dined in the fairy tale surroundings my husband and son enjoyed a trip to watch the Star Wars Jedi training camp and to try a Jedi burger.

This was the first time we did both the 'Princess for a Day' experience and the meal, these were a special treat and I thought that the 55 Euro package was worth the money for us as we got so many lovely photos from it. I think that the costs of the packages with the dresses are very expensive and it is definitely worth packing a dress to bring from home. The princess meal at Auberge de Cendrillon was also an expensive treat. I thought the food was lovely and our only disappointment was the missing mice and that often the princesses dance and they didn't that evening. We would consider going to the restaurant again.
